Hi Keith. Thank you for your nice comment mate. We went over to a place called Eitham Moat on friday, and had a couple of hours plein air, it was great. paintings coming up soon mate. All the best Keith. Vic.
Hi Hilda. I`m glad that you like them Hilda. As I have said before, I really love doing these pen sketches. As I said to Keith above, We went out plein air on friday and after i did a painting of this Oast house, i wanted to do a pen sketch of another old Building, but realised that I had forgoten my pen and pad. so I did the sketch with a brush and blue paint. All the best Hilda. Vic.
Yes my friend, I agree with our friend Hilda, these sketches are excellent. Every time I see your sketches, it's a reminder that all of us should continually practice sketching people, places or things. It's a great habit to get into. thank you for sharing. I am off to buy some brushes. Have a great day.
Hi Joan. You are so right to say that we all should continually draw, preferably with a pen and ink. You can`t rub out your mistakes, so you tend to be more careful with your strokes don`t you? I hope you got the brushes you needed my friend. All the best Joan. Vic.
I started painting around 1990 and loved it straight away.
I started with watercolour, and then after about 15 years I moved to Oils and acrylics. I still paint the odd watercolour to keep my hand in so to speak. I love impressionism. The only time I use detail is when I paint portraits. Otherwise it is my interpretation of the subject.
I am retired but still find it hard to find time to paint. I reckon I can manage to do a painting about three times a week.
Originally I was a Motor Mechanic. Then, for the eighteen years leading up to my retirement, I worked
for Barclays bank.
Nice action sketches Vic.
