Good morning my friend, it's 7:25am, even though it is past noon in England. I think this painting is amazing. Intricate composition, not an easy thing to do, your colors and shadows are brilliant. You say you can't make up your mind? I think it's great. Sorry I missed your last post, another winner.
This is great, Vic! The colors in your trees are amazing...you are the master of "greens"....LOL Looks like a place I'd like to visit., taking a ride on that boat looks wonderful right now and love the way you made the reflections in the water. Nicely done.
good afternoon my friend. 1.12pm here Joan. just about to go and do a spot of painting. thank you Joan for your lovely comment. As I said i`m not sure whether I am happy with it. I only posted it because Rosemary said she liked it. I`m about to start another Norwich painting, wish me luck will you? Thanks again Joan and all the best. Vic. P.S. Plein air tomorrow, Yipee!
Hi Hilda. Thank you very much for your lovely comment. I`m doing very well with comments from you and Joan, thank you. Master of colour! that is a new name for me, thank you. I do love colour more than anything else to do with a painting. All the best Hilda. Vic.
There's a nice sense of light and distance in this one Vic. Some people don't like painting greens but you don't seem to have any trouble. There is a good variety here, from distant cool ones to rich dark ones in the foreground.
I started painting around 1990 and loved it straight away.
I started with watercolour, and then after about 15 years I moved to Oils and acrylics. I still paint the odd watercolour to keep my hand in so to speak. I love impressionism. The only time I use detail is when I paint portraits. Otherwise it is my interpretation of the subject.
I am retired but still find it hard to find time to paint. I reckon I can manage to do a painting about three times a week.
Originally I was a Motor Mechanic. Then, for the eighteen years leading up to my retirement, I worked
for Barclays bank.
