Harry and I plein air at keston Common yesterday. It was cold but Sunny. A wonderful thing happened Whilst we were painting, a lady came over with a tray of Two large mugs of Tea, and a plate of biscuits. We took a photo of the tray on the leafy ground. Theres Harry packing up, me painting the subject, the tray and the painting. I normally complete a painting at home but although I`m not happy with it but thought I would show it in the raw. I shale paint a bigger one from this.

A typical Cottage and farm at Tandridge Kent. This was painted from a photograph that I had taken whilst painting the Barn that I mentioned before. It`s a beautiful Area, with several subjects to paint from. Harry and I were painting there about two weeks ago, he painted the Cottage and I painted the Barn. We will certainly be going back there weather permitting.

This painting was mainly painted on site, but completed at Home. Why is it that I always have`to do something to a painting when I get Home? There is the usual mugshots of Harry and I. It was a very hot day, Too Hot to stay too long I`m afraid.

I did this painting from a photo that I got from the Internet, Photos for Artist`s. I think it is in the Lake District. I`ve added a few things of my own, like the cyclist and a couple of figures. Also I made the sky different to the photo.

The painting that is showing on my Easel, is the one obviously I was doing there, and the other painting is a bigger one of another scene that I painted from a photo.
There is Harry and I as usual. It was a great day out with our club at Henley on Thames. Some of our members went on a boat trip instead of painting. On that day Henley on Thames had a Triathlon going on, and there were hundreds of spectators milling around five of us painting. At around 3pm, the heavens opened up. Thats plein air for you eh?

I painted this Tractor from a photograph that I took after completing the Windmill
at West Kingsdown. As we were on our way out of the field, the Farmer had just hitched
this contraption to the back of the Tractor and was doing something to the back of it, I couldn`t resist the opportunity to paint it.

No Fish in there was painted right at the foot of the bridge. We were standing ( Note the standing bit Michael) on a small area where four local residents pay £30 a year to park their cars there. We were praying that none of them wanted to park there. One of them came out and chatted to us for around 15min, I couldn`t get on with my painting.
I meant to post some photos with this, but I will upload them after.

This painting was done from a photograph of mine. I have altered it drastically to what the photo shows to suit what I thought was a better composition. For instance, There isn`t a figure in the photo and the sky isn`t as stormy as I have depicted. Also, several other little changes.

This is a plein Air painting at Keston ponds. It`s amazing really what you can find for a subject if you walk a few more yards. We have painted around this area several times. When you have done a painting, you think of going somewhere else next time. But go back there and walk a few yards from the last place you painted, and bingo.
