Farnborough, Kent. 6x8, oils on board.

I did this painting Plein Air this morning at around 9am. I had virtually finished it when a chap with his dog came up and said, could I have a look, naturally I said yes. that was it. no more painting. He told me his life story and I told him some of mine. All I had`to do to complete it was place that little sign in that dark area, so I did it at home. I did enjoy the chat though. The Photo is my kit packed and ready to leave.

This painting was done from an oil Sketch I did on site. I did add a couple of boats that you can see under the bridge.

Monday, 19 July 2010

I did this painting entirely with a palette knife. There is so much paint there that it is going to take ages to dry.

Around the Bend. 9x12 oils on board.

I fancied doing this painting mainly because of the dark Trees. That 4x4 ( I think it is a 4x4)is coming up a hill from around the bend. I have added a new colour to my palette now, sap green, and I love it. I haven`t used this colour before but I`m looking forward to really trying it out this coming Sunday Plein air.
